I have been intrigued by iPods since they came out. Now, they have come out with a mini iPod. this new one is 2" shorter, and slightly narrower and thinner. However, for $249, you get a 4GB device and for $299, you get a 15GB device that is more expandable via peripherals (at the moment) and has a larger screen. And…it’s not THAT big. The small one is very chic, but the original design just seems to be more useful.
Sorry about my absence as of late… I basically enjoyed my holiday time off with my lovely wife, Michelle.
Sickness was in the air though. I was sick with a mild fever and sore throat for a few days around Christmas, healing in time for our trip to the U.P. where we stayed at the Big Bay Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. Pictures.
However, Michelle was a bit under the weather the day we were heading up there… but she was healed in plenty of time for us to have an amazing two days of PURE, UNADULTERATED rest up there. No cell phone calls about computer grief, website grief, or ANYTHING of that nature. I did have 8 voicemails when I finally got digital Sprint service around Higgins Lake. At least half of the calls were computer grief related. :) I don’t mind. I love to help.
Did I mention I love my Saab. I finally got the front end aligned after having to take it to the Saab dealer twice. Now the car is back in business. Drives great…always a pleasure, thank you!
Michelle got a new car! We finally turned in her Rendezvous (it was neat, but not “us”) and got her a TrailBlazer LS (dark gray). Very nice ride. Two days after we got it, we drove it up to the U.P. What a nice ride. Smooth, quiet, and all that.
My buddy Yogi sent me this today. I think it’s too good to pass up, and it’s short, fast, and very entertaining:
A boy and his father visiting from India were at a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and back together again.
The boy asked his father, “What is this, Father?”. The father responded, “Son I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don’t know what it is!”.
While the boy and his father were watching wide-eyed, an old lady in a wheelchair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched small circles of lights with numbers above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction. The walls opened up again and a voluptuous 24-year old woman stepped out.
Dave and Natascha LOVE how I call Michelle “Beauty” as one of her nicknames. Gurnip is another one, on a side note.
We get this package from Charles Schwab yeserday. I figured it was some sort of Charles Schwab shwag that Kinski gripped from work, but instead it was…
So, out of 5 leagues, I’m in the “Superbowl” for 2 of them, and in the consolation game for 1 of them (my Yahoo! Plus league). I would’ve made it to my Superbowl, but I played T. Hasselbeck of the Washington Redskins who did nothing but throw 4 INTS last weekend instead of playing Aaron Brooks, who threw 5 TDS. Oh well.
Here is an image playoff bracker for the keeper league that I got into through Jesse’s peeps.
Whenever we go to Wisconsin, we always like to indulge ourselves in these Kringles from Racine, WI. They are DELICIOUS!!! We ran into them at our favorite fruit market, Nino Salvaggio’s, the other day!
Saddam Hussein was captured a few hours ago. I wonder what’s going to happen now. Well, he’s going to be tried and so and so forth, but I wonder what’s going to happen to and in Iraq. I’m curious to see if and how fast things can change there.
I was playing around with some photos last night…and I just LOVE the heal tool. Here, I demonstrate the drastic difference using the heal tool makes on my “razor burn”. Check it out.
Be sure to check out the photo album that is linked to from this site, or visit: Photo Album.
Visiting Alex and Rae Michelle and I had a WONDERFUL time visiting Alex and Rae this fine, CRISP and cold December night. Alex lives in Commerce Township…not too far, West of and South of Pontiac and Waterford. Nice, very “lakey” around those parts, those “West Side” parts. :D I made sure to take some pictures that are included in tonight’s photo posting pouring!
Final Exam is Tuesday So, this class that seems like it’s drawing out forever is almost over. We have to watch 2 more hours of lecture and crank out some homework problems so we’ll be prepared for the exam’s math-type problems… besides that, have to crank out some articles. Dr. Verma tends to ask a lot of questions from the articles he wants us to read. Not a big deal. Much cooler than the textboox, that’s for sure. If I recall correctly, I don’t remember reading much of the textbook for the midterm. Oh well. I got a B!
Weekend Besides doing some schoolwork, I am going to Matt’s private (sort of) Holiday Party tomorrow afternoon with Taco Tommy at around 2pm or so. Should be a nice break from doing my schoolwork earlier in the day. I also need to do some stuff around the house like tidy up the big tree’s lights, get the power cord cleaned up a bit that is coming out of the coach light, and wash the Saab. It’s damn filthy! I also need to adjust the one cabinet door in the newly rehabbed laundry room!
Football season is coming to an end This Sunday is going to be a big “Football Day” for me. I have 3 teams in the playoffs, and one of them has already advanced to round 2. It’s getting real exciting now. I am also in the top 3 in both of my pick’em games that I’m in… I COULD win a few bucks this football season with fantasy and pick’em games… we shall see.
The Big Game So, the jackpot is up to about 61 Million USD. Michelle and I decided to play tonight, with $5. We’ll wait until tomorrow morning and actually look the numbers up in the paper or on the laptop… I LOVE using the laptop at the kitchen table for some reason…I don’t know why.
