Spammed Joke of the Day

· Uncategorized

Thanks, Kevin, for the joke this morning.

While I was driving down the road the other day (going a little faster than I should have been) I passed over a bridge only to see a cop on the other side with a radar gun laying in wait. The cop pulled me over, walked up to the car, and with that classic patronizing smirk we all know about, asked…..

“What’s your hurry?”

“I’m late for work.”

“What do you do?”

“I’m a rectum stretcher”

“A what? A rectum stretcher? And just what does a rectum stretcher do?”

“Well, I start by inserting one finger, then I work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four, then with my whole hand in I work side to side until I can get both hands in, and then I slowly but surely stretch the hole, until it’s about 6 feet.”

“And just what do you do with a six-foot ass hole?”

“You give him a radar gun and park him behind a bridge "

Traffic ticket: $95.00
Court costs: $45.00
Look on cop’s face … Priceless

Another AWESOME Weekend in Colorado

· Uncategorized

Another weekend of snowboarding and hanging out with my friends has come and gone. This time, me, Sean, and Dave met up in the mountainous region of North America we like to call Colorado!

For the full gallery of photos, click on this thumbnail of Sean, RAGING, getting big air dude!

Wednesday night, St. Patrick’s Day:
We landed at the airport at about 7PM, hung out while we all gathered and had some drinks, and then we went to the Celtic Tavern and met up with Amy, Laura, Mark, and his girlfriend. I forgot her name. Drats. We ended up staying there for quite a while and then made our way to a nasty hotel called The American Inn or something like that. It was $19.95 and up. We paid the up, which was $40… not too bad, and that was $100 cheaper than staying in Silverthorne, so a plus.

Thursday:
We were supposed to get up nice and early and head towards one of the mountains to go snowboarding at. Well, let’s just say that by the time we hit the slopes at Breckenridge, it was 12:30PM. We did get to put in 3 1/2 hours of good riding in, but we were kind of beat up. We got plenty of sleep though! Zepy? Afterwards, we walked around downtown Breckenridge, which is always kind of cute. We got back to our hotel room where we decided that we’d nap until about 8:30. Well, we napped…oh yeah, we napped, until 11:30PM, where we quickly called down to the Old Chicago to see if they served food still. Yissiree, until midnight. We ran down there, got some pizza and a few brewskis!

Friday:
We decided that we all needed to go to Vail since we’ve never been there. I could be wrong, Dave or Sean may have been there, but I don’t think so. The place is HUUUUGE! GIGANTIC! It dwarfs every place I’ve ever been snowboarding at. Here, I’ve always wanted to keep this published, online. It’s my Excel file I like to call: “Ski Dot Ex Ell Ess”. By the way, we had expected a winter wonderland, but what we received was a fantastic weekend of awesome weather. It was in the mid to upper 50s in the mountains, making for a “mashed potato” snow experience, per The Senator. In Denver, it was in the high 70s to just at 80 degrees on both Friday and Saturday. Amazing weather. Back to Vail. We ended up having a few brewskis at one of Vail’s bar/restaurants that had outdoor seating. It was nice and warm at first, but after a few down the hatch and the hour hand rotating clockwise, the t-shirt wasn’t enough. We headed back towards our hotel and went down to the Old Chicago for something other than pizza (I got lasagna) and more brewskis. Amy was already there and we hung out for a few, teasing her about her boyfriend she made at the bar. I don’t recall how late we stayed out, as we had a big day of riding ahead of us.

Saturday:
We decided that we would hit Loveland because of its smaller stature, less popular among the tourists. We made the right decision. With temps in the 50s, the major mountains were PACKED, to say the least. Loveland was pretty busy its damn self, but nothing like what Vail or Breckenridge would be like on a day like this, in the middle of Spring Break. This picture shows a rare glimpse of the armored man, as he suits up, ready for battle. I gotta give it to the guy, he was taking some pretty brave jumps over rocks and the like. I was very impressed. We had an absolute blast at Loveland. It was our earliest start yet, about 10:30. We’d been cutting the start times down one hour each day. So on this day, we had a good 5 hours of riding with very little rest in between. We spent most of the day looking for jumps to take. I feel that I made some good improvements, but definitely need to spend many more days honing my skills!

Saturday Night:
We decided… damn, I keep saying that. Well, snowboarding wasn’t going to happen on Sunday. I think we were all beat up a bit and kind of looking forward to playing in Downtown Denver another night. So now, saving another $140 by not stayin in Silverthorne, we found a place in Denver, at the Embassy Suites. It was about 160 for the night, so, in the very end, we did BETTER on our overall hotel bill by a few decades! Very nice hotel/suite. It had 3 beds. One in the living room and two in the bedroom. It had an ample bathroom as well. We started the night by going out to eat at Rio Grande. We sucked down about 4-6 margaritas each…tasty tasty. We had our food, had some contact with Amy, who was partying at another one of her boyfriend’s houses…trying to coordinate her coming to Denver to play. After leaving Rio, we headed to the Purple Martini, which sounded like a happenin’ place… well, it was alright… I think we were pretty drunk by the time we got there, so it was hard to ascertain. Anyway, we stayed there all night, sucking down beers (me) and just chillin’. Amy and Laura showed up with one of their friends, and stayed for quite some time. We had a blast. In the meantime, before Amy ever showed up, Dave had to hit the high road to the room. He was pretty much cashed out. Sean and I were troopers, at least on the exterior. Let’s just say that later that night, I lost some weight, a few times… I felt like killing myself on Sunday.

Sunday:
Our last day. What to do? Heal. Heal. Heal. We went to an Irish place for breakfast/brunch. It was already about 1:30PM, WAAAAY later than we wanted it to be. The Irish place was right next to Coors Field, and we had an amazing view of the city and the field. I ordered Fire Tomato Bisque and Irish Oatmeal pancakes. Didn’t eat much of the cakes, but the Bisque was “good as hell” (as O.B.) would say! I really enjoyed our time there, but it was a bit chilly and we were all pretty hung over, me being the worst. We hung out there for a bit and tried to see Red Rocks Park but found out that we’d barely have time to do much there. Off to DIA (Denver International Airport) we go! We played there, ate at Wolfgang Puck’s, and thanked everyone for the DAMN GOOD TIME WE HAD TOGETHER!

US, TOO, DUDE!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

HardOCP donates 35k to a sick woman

HardOCP, one of my favorite websites out there, has delivered what they promised to the Smith Family.

From HardOCP:

Brian Smith’s wife Heather, gave birth last month to their fourth healthy child. Shortly after, she suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. Three days later, she suffered another stroke and the doctors gave her a 50% chance to live, which she survived. Brian has been told to never expect Heather to be able to care for her children again, who counted on her as a full time Mom and home school teacher. Brian, a software engineer for Cascade Micro, has explained they have good hospital insurance. However, the insurance will not cover most of the out-patient therapies that Heather is going to need if she will ever again have a chance at living a somewhat normal life even close to what most of you reading this enjoy. We at HardOCP want to try our best to see that Heather and Brian get the help they are going to need.

12X DVD Burner!!!

Plextor sports a 12x Serial ATA DVD+R Writer

From Ars Technica:

You can’t get 12X speeds with all 8X DVD+R media. Only media from three manufacturers–Maxell, Ricoh, and Taiyo Yuden–have so far been approved for the faster rate. Taiyo Yuden discs are sold under a variety of brand names as well as its own, so you may not always know if you’re buying them. The PX-712A is fast with other media types, but doesn’t break any records. It can write to DVD-R at 8X, DVD+RW and -RW at 4X, CD-R at 48X, and CD-RW at 24X. It can read DVD-ROMs at up to 16X and CDs at up to 48X.

This is what the processor work is like when encoding an mp3. The low parts of the graph are when it “rips” the music, temporarily, onto the PC. The high-use areas of the graph are the LAME mp3 encoder doing its job. :)

I had a heck of a weekend! It was chock full ‘o schoolwork, but also full of fun times with Michelle!

Friday Night
Michelle had a mystery dinner date planned for me. She had learned about the place from her mom’s friend at work. Well, on the way home, I thought it’d be a good idea to do something for HER that night… I picked up a bouquet of flowers, and boy, did she love them! I liked them, too. Anyway, at 8:00, we arrived at the Fondue Room in Downtown Mt. Clemens. What a cozy place! We had done fondue at home, a few years ago, but had never actually gone to a place that served fondue for dinner! We ordered ourselves some fruity martinis while we waited for our Fondue Room dinner for two. It included cheese fondue with bread, pretzels, and apples to dip in. We asked for swiss cheese, but they brought cheddar. Michelle was happy. The waitress cooked it up for us and we enjoyed our cheese fondue. After that, we had some nice salads and a 2nd martini. After the salad, we had our sirloin and chicken, and vegetables delivered to use for our main course. What an exciting dinner party. Cooking the fondue was so much fun. They gave us an assortment of dipping sauces to use for our cooked meat. Oh yeah, we also had some stuffed pasta to cook up in the fondue juice (chicken broth). What a blast!

Saturday
I had some computer moonlighting work to do on Saturday. Worked without a hitch! Got my client set up with DSL, locking down their server so that only terminal services punches through the firewall. Good stuff. Saturday was spent doing our take-home midterm online. The professor didn’t explain to us how the fill in the blanks portion of the test was going to work with the online quiz/exam system that Wayne uses. I don’t think he had it set up properly, as it marked most of our fill in the blanks questions wrong, when, indeed, they were correct! Much of the afternoon was spent reading to prepare for the first of two essays, the 2 pager. We read what we needed and then decided we’d had enough and went out, playing, what we do best. We ran around town, going here and going there. Then we went to BW3, near our house and had some dinner and drinks. We went home and watched Matchstick Men, with Nicholas Cage and Sam Rockwell. The movie is about a con-man, Nicholas Cage, who finds out that he has a daughter. He forms a relationship with her, but he unexpectedly finds that she’s in the way of his work and he has to “use” her in one of his scams. The movie was even better than I had thought.

Sunday
Spent the morning doing the first of two essays and just enjoying a restful day. We spent part of the day furniture shopping and meandering around various stores, like Circuit City, always fun. We went up to Panera Bread, where I finished my short essay and Michelle read for her next part of the essay. I had my laptop, which I love bringing to Panera Bread, because of their free WiFi access. I bs’d online while there, too. Always fun. Sunday night, we had a Sopranos party at Chris and Bahia. Dino and Danielle came over prior to this, where we visited and talked about their Oct. 2 wedding for while, before we walked over the the Rouvalis house. We ordered chinese food from Wing Lung…good stuff. Dan and April where there by the time we got back from picking up our dinner. We had a damn good time, visiting and catching up. I have to admit, I didn’t watch a whole lot of the Sopranos episode, so I’ll have to make sure I catch it tonight or tomorrow, before I head to Denver with my buddies!!!! Yahhhooooooo!

I’m curious to see how good Deadwood is going to be. It’s a new HBO show that starts on March 21, at 10:00pm. I thought Carnivale sucked. It was too dark and too slow for me. I thought more supernatural stuff would happen, more often. It never really did.
