A man walks into a drug store with his 8-year old son. They happen to walk by the condom display, and the boy asks, “What are these, Dad? The man matter-of-factly replies, “Those are called condoms, son. Men use them to have safe sex.” “Oh I see,” replied the boy. “Yes, I’ve heard of that in health class at school.” He looks over the display and picks up a package of 3 and asks, “Why are there 3 in this package?” The dad replies, “Those are for high school boys, one for Friday, one for Saturday, and one for Sunday.” “Cool” says the boy. He notices a 6 pack and asks, “Then who are these for?” “Those are for college men,” the dad answers, “TWO for Friday, TWO for Saturday, and TWO for Sunday.” “WOW!” exclaimed the boy, “Then who uses THESE?” he asks, picking up a 12 pack.
With a sigh and a tear in his eye, the dad replied, “Those are for married men. One for January, one for February, one for March…….”
There is an excellent production out there about “The Scene” of releasing movies before they come out to DVD. You can find the shows and other information here: Welcome to the Scene.
I have watched the first two episodes, and man, I think they are awesome! I had problems downloading epis 3-5, as the Web Links (direct link to AVI files) didn’t work. There are other links for some modern file-sharing internet protocols like Magnet, and bittorrent, but I don’t have those installed at work and didn’t want to. People use these all the time, so it shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t know much about them, but I don’t think it’s like installed Kazza, Limewire, or WinMX. I think it’s more of a browser-based thing, but again, I’m not sure. Enjoy. And comment on what you think about these shows. I thought the first two were fascinating!
What’s new? Well, we’re about 9 weeks out from the baby’s due date. We had our baby shower on Saturday, and it was a complete success! Thanks to everyone who came and bought the little baby gifts! The gifts are definitely going to come in handy as we make the transition from DINKs to parents!!!
School’s been kind of “eh” for me the last few weeks. My one class is kind of in a stall until we get back to meeting, weekly. We’re currently in our online discussion portion of the course, and my main responsibility was already done about 3 weeks ago. I have a few more weeks of coasting until we get back into the swing of things. I do have to put more time into the Investment Policy course as I got a B on the exam and want to try and finish the course with an A, to try and keep my GPA up. I’d be interested in further studies, and to do this, I’d like to have as high a GPA as possible.
We have this Saturday off from school, so we’re just going to keep nesting, getting the crib ready for the little person that’s coming our way! I can’t believe we’re going to get a roommate! I hope the roommate loves us both. I would hate to have a baby that didn’t like me (!!!!).
I can’t believe that Pepe and Sarah are having a baby in October!!! How exciting!!!
Adidas puts computer on new footing By Michael McCarthy, USA TODAY NEW YORK ? Hoping the new Adidas 1 will be to the sneaker industry what Apple’s iPod has been to digital music, Adidas will put on sale March 18 what it bills as the world’s first computerized “smart shoe.”
The ‘Adidas 1’ uses a sensor,a microprocessor and amotorized cable system.
But consumers will decide whether the bionic running shoe’s $250 price tag ? four times the average shoe purchase at stores such as Foot Locker ? is a smart idea.
Adidas claims its new shoe, already profiled in Time and Popular Science, delivers on its promise to automatically and continually adjust itself to a runner’s size, pace, terrain and even fatigue level.
Dan sent me this link. All I can say is that it’s very impressive! It worked just fine in Firefox, so I’m sure it works fine in IE. You’ll need to install a plugin, but that should be automatic.
You know, I could’ve started my day off much nicer than I did today. Just as I’m getting ready to come into work, I was dealing with a few coffee drops and wiping off my coffee cup from it’s small spills it endured on the way into work. Well, as I set my cup down in front of the passenger seat, the whole damn thing tipped over, spilling and soaking into the floor mat and carpet. Luckily, I’m going to the gym these days and I had my towels to soak up most of the coffee with.
Still, the carpet looks dark. I’m sure it’s going to be stained, but I’ll do my best to get it out with detergent. Good thing the carpet is dark gray! Oh well. Whoa is me!
