Feeding Benjamin

· Uncategorized

I’ll tell ya. It’s been a little sad having to watch Michelle feed Benjamin this whole time. I was so excited when it was finally my turn to give it a shot. Not only did he take the bottle from me without a hitch, but he sucked it down in no time.

A few days after this picture, I fed him again, and he sucked THAT bottle down even faster!

Another good one!

· Uncategorized

Thanks, Waldo, for this good one!!!

There are three blondes washed up on an island. Suddenly a fairy appears and
offers to grant each one of them one wish.

The first blonde asks to be intelligent. Instantly, she is turned into a
brown-haired woman and she swims off the island.

The next one asks to be even more intelligent than the previous one, so
instantly she is turned into a ravishing redhead.
The redhead builds a boat and sails off the island.

The third blonde asks to become even more intelligent than the previous two.
The fairy turns her into a man, and he walks across the bridge

Hilarious Joke

· Uncategorized

Thanks, Tortilla Man, for this awesome joke!

One day, in line at the company cafeteria, Joe says to Mike behind him,
“My elbow hurts like hell. I guess I better see a doctor.”

“Listen, you don’t have to spend that kind of money,” Mike replies.

“There’s a diagnostic computer down at Wal-Mart. Just give it a urine sample and the computer will tell you what’s wrong and what to do about
it. It takes ten seconds and costs ten dollars…a lot cheaper than a
doctor.”

So Joe deposits a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Wal-Mart.
He deposits ten dollars, and the computer lights up and asks for the
urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits.

Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout: “You have tennis
elbow.

Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy activity. It will improve
in two weeks.”

Thank you for shopping @ Wal-Mart.

That evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Joe
began wondering if the computer could be fooled. He mixed some tap
water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and
daughter, and a sperm sample for good measure. Joe hurries back to
Wal-Mart, eager to check the results.

He deposits ten dollars, pours in his concoction, and awaits the
results.

The computer prints the following:

  1. Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. (Aisle 9)
  2. Your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo. (Aisle 7)
  3. Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.
  4. Your wife is pregnant, Twins. They aren’t yours. Get a lawyer.
  5. If you don’t stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get
    better.

Thank you for shopping @ Wal-Mart

It's already Thursday!!!

Well, as far as I’m concerned, the weeks is almost over. Another week of classes is done, and only 3 sessions remain. The 27th of June is my last class until September. I do have two independent study projects due at the end of August, but they don’t require me to go anywhere after work, which is a nice thing. Just like last summer, I’ll get to go home after work, tend to my garden, lawn, landscaping, and most importanly, my family. I always miss playing with Ben when I get home at 10pm, as that’s when he’s usually going to bed.

It’s Father’s Day this Sunday. I can’t believe that I’m someone’s father. Maybe it’ll hit me in a few years when they hit me up for 20 bux to go and get a Slurpee and some Nerds.

Back to work

· Uncategorized

I’m officially back to work, in the Dearborn office. Days are a bit longer and more tiring so far. Yesterday and tomorrow, especially, as I still have a few more class sessions. June 27 is my last day of class. After that, my work week will get back to normal and I should have more time to get to work early so I can get out to the park with Michelle and Ben!

Ben's First Stroller Ride

· Uncategorized

A few days ago, we took Benjamin on his first stroller ride. It was after this ride that we decided we didn’t want the Graco Metrolite anymore.

My morning run

· Uncategorized

I took my first morning run in many, many months today before I started working. I decided to do my usual 3 miles which is from outside my front door to the Riverbends Park in Shelby Township, which is across Auburn Road from me. On my way BACK from the halfway point, I noticed a teal Grand Am backed into the dirt parking lot of the nearby Patriot Field, a soccer field at the park. The car flashed its lights at me and an older gentleman sitting in the driver’s seat put his left hand, with his fingerless leather glove, on the windshield and tapped it a few times.

My first reaction was that I wanted to run back to my halfway mark and sneak up behind the guy’s car and get his license plate so I could report him to the cops. My second reaction was just to keep walking, as I wasn’t in the mood to get into an altercation with a gay prostitute. When I got home, I called the cops and told them about the incident and described the car and the man. Prior to having Ben, I could care less, but now that Michelle may walk in that park with little Ben, I don’t want deviates lurking around there, gay or not. I offered my sting services to the Shelby Twp. Police, but they weren’t having it. They said the detectives have it covered. Oh well. The detective on the phone was pretty cool though, and said that if I could see this car again and could get the license plate, that would be helpful, but not to put myself in any danger. I told him I was a part-time ninja and wouldn’t put myself in danger.

My crazy goatee

· Uncategorized

I wanted to do another file upload blog entry. I had this crazy goatee a while back, maybe like 3 years ago, actually. Wow, how time flies.

FINALLY going to cultivate my garden soil. My dad’s been pressing me to get this done as it’s already June and I haven’t planted a thing. Seems like time is harder to find these days!

Some funny stuff...

· Uncategorized

Okay, so the past 10 days have been quite a whirlwind for me. With the birth of my son, I’ve had some extra craziness flying through my head. Here are some of them:

  1. In the hospital, right away, I pretty much thought Benjamin smelled like sausages the whole time we were there plus the first day we were home. I’m not sure if it was the ointment we used on his bum, or if it was just the smell of the hospital baby linens. I even convinced Michelle that he smelled like sausages! Our parents thought we were crazy!

  2. All I wanted to do before we had Ben was get a new line trimmer. After talking with my brother, Dino, I really wanted to get a nicer one than the typical fare you would get at Sears or Home Depot, although, Home Depot sold a nice Echo trimmer, the SRM-210. Anyway, I bought the Stihl FS55. Nice trimmer. Lots of power. However, this thing leaked all over my garage and stunk up the joint. I took it back and they replaced one of the fuel lines. Well, after fixing it, it leaked again, but this time, not the entire gas tank, as we caught it in time. I was getting ready to take it back yesterday to either get another one or to get the Echo. Oh yeah, I bought the trimmer at Weingartz, in Utica. Okay, so, I am getting the trimmer ready to load up into the Tahoe (we replaced the Trailblazer with a Tahoe, and it’s $30 a month less!!!) and rememberd something in the house. After getting what I forgot in the house, I jumped into the Tahoe and backed up…right over the Stihl FS55 trimmer! DOH!!! I bent the shaft near the bottom and put some scrapes on the shield and the shaft, itself. Being the honest cat I am, I called up John at Weingartz (http://www.weingartz.com) and told him that I was bringing back the trimmer for another one or the Echo, BUT, I had some bad news. I told him how, in my flustered state of no sleep, and of just trying to get things in order at home, that I ran over the trimmer. He sounded nice, but sounded a bit apprehensive to promise me anything over the phone. Well, when I got there, he barely looked at the bent shaft and proceeded to do the return and sell me the Echo SRM-210. I haven’t used the new trimmer yet, but I’m sure it’ll be just as good as the Stihl. John at Weingartz has had Echo products for years and said they are solid products. Echo’s been the leader for many years and Stihl only just recently started making trimmers and home products.

  3. Stroller #3: We first got the Graco Quattro Tour LX for little Ben for our shower gift from Michelle’s parents. Well, after doing some research at Consumer Reports and playing with the Grace Metro Lite, we returned the Quattro Tour. The Metro Lite is 9 pounds lighter (19) than the Quattro (28), which was our main reason for making the exchange. Well anyway, after our first walk with little Ben yesterday, we decided we didn’t like the canopy on the Metro Lite and returned it so we could get the Quattro Tour LX again. The funny thing was that I was able to build the new stroller in about 5 minutes as I had already done it once before!!!

  4. Changing diapers is funny sometimes. The other day, I was changing Ben’s poopy diapers only to have him shoot out some baby poop on the new diaper. Just as I was getting him cleaned up for another diaper, he pooped again. In the end, I had to use 3 new diapers for just one changing! Bless Ben’s heart!

Photo Shoot with Frank

We had a little photo shoot the other day when my old friend, Frank, came over. Frank’s always been a real good friend and has always lent a hand when it comes to photos and advice about cameras.

Just hangin' with Ben!

It’s been fun so far. I can’t complain. Taking care of this little guy is just as rewarding as people say it should be. I just gave him a bath today, sponge-style, solo. It was a bit hectic, as he was pretty upset about it the whole time. However, after dressing him back up in some new duds, he’s a-ok and snoozing away in his little Baby Papasan chair. I’m sitting here at the table eating lunch, watching Jeopardy, and looking over my left shoulder, enjoying every little breath Benjamin takes! I love him!
