Well, I’ve put up some photos from our trip to Green Bay this past weekend. I want to point out how thankful we are to the Pappas family (name has been disguised to protect the innocent) for providing us with such RIDICULOUS seats for the game:
Thanks again to Dave and Sarah for hosting us with such nice amenities. Pappas and Fries, thanks for everything, as well! Doors, thanks for the SUV! We don’t need no steenkin’ fuel economy!!!
This is a hilarious video made for World of Warcraft. “The Internet is for Porn” is a song from the broadway musical, Avenue Q. I saw Avenue Q when I went to New York City in 2004 with my friend John.
I’ve finally updated (and uploaded) some photos. We had a chance to see both sides of the family on Thanksgiving. The snow definitely made it a pretty way to drive from one location to the next! Benjamin was at his tip-top, too!
So, this is the end of my first week at Wayne State. (3 day week due to Thanksgiving). So far, so good. The people seem great, and it’s nice to be in a situation that is a bit smaller than working at a gigantic company like Ford. I had great times at Ford, and met some great people who I’ll remain in contact with.
Moving over to Wayne State, it seems that I’ve got some great staff that are some serious computer ninjas. It should be good times here. The commute is definitely shorter. It never took more than 40 minutes to get to work this whole week. It even took 25 minutes to get to work yesterday from Ben’s drop-off point. That portion used to take at least 40 minutes before (it’s all highway from that point, vs. mainly surface streets from home).
Here’s two shots of my office and my lovely urban view:
Well, today is my last day in the office. I work from home tomorrow. What a nice boss (Thanks, Jeff)!
I can’t believe I’ve worked at Ford Motor Company for over 2 1/2 years! This is the longest I’ve ever held a job, post college. I’m looking forward to working at Wayne State. I’ve heard many good things about working there and have heard even better things about working in the academic environment. Hopefully, this environment will be a nice place for me to nurture and grow my skillz and to apply my MBA and IT knowledge.
The other morning, I was warming up my car so I could get coffee for Michelle and I from Starbie’s (thanks for the nickname, Sean). Well, I started the Focus up and brought our new jogging stroller inside so I could quickly put it together while the car got cozy. After assembling the B.O.B. stroller, I looked outside and noticed the Focus was in the middle of the street. At first, I thought it was funny, then I realized that the neighbor’s dad was over watching their young daughter (about a year old). I realized that for the Focus to be stopped in the middle of the street, that it must’ve hit something and bounced back, otherwise, it’d probably be up on the neighbor’s lawn.
Well, it did hit something. That something was the front driver side fender. It caused enough damage that the door wouldn’t open until he took it home and pried the sheet metal out a little bit. Al was very nice and non-confrontational. I called AAA last night and everything should be all set. They’ll cover his damages and I’ll just not make a claim on mine, since my bumper only has some small scuffage.
Lesson learned: Always leave your emergency brake on with a manual!
Yesterday was a bad day. First, I broke Scott’s entire website. 2nd, I was cleaning out more garbage on the web server and one of the tools the hosting company gives me decided to mess with my photo gallery and a few other mishaps. I’m quite upset about it.
UPDATE: Oh yeah, I fixed it yesterday, the 1st of November.
